

Junior Associate
TABIA LLC, a leading Yerevan-based legal and transaction advisory firm, is hiring a Junior Associate or Associate to join its growing team. We are seeking a proactive, ambitious, and detail-oriented legal professional with 1–2 years of experience, ideally in banking, finance, securities, or investment law with the responsibility of providing assistance to TABIA’s Compliance Team.
The varied nature of the role will lead to the successful candidate learning and also then expanding on their experience across multiple facets of Compliance, finance and legal.
You will work closely with our senior team on complex legal and financial assignments, supporting both domestic and international clients in sectors such as banking, fintech, investment management, and corporate transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting in the review and preparation of legal opinions, compliance reports, and regulatory reviews, with a focus on AML and compliance-related matters for financial institutions.

Assisting the Compliance Team in preparation of compliance reports with analysis and recommendations;

Assisting the Compliance Team in monitoring the business compliance framework and specifically the Compliance Monitoring Programme (CMP);

Assisting in identification and monitoring of compliance risk areas within the business and supporting the implementation of corrective action for avoidance of future breaches.

Participating in drafting, review, and help negotiation of commercial contracts, transaction documents, and corporate records.

Assisting the Compliance Team in reviewing and monitoring the day-to-day operation of the firm’s Compliance systems and controls, registers and policies;

Participating in legal research and advisory for financial sector regulations and cross-border investment issues.

Keeping abreast of national and international applicable AML, ant-fraud or other related laws, regulations and guidance, while providing compliance consultation on those matters․

Providing regular and ad hoc briefings on various Compliance topics.

Supporting the business in identifying and implementing regulatory compliance developments.
Required & Preferred Qualifications:

Law, Economics, Finance, Banking or related degree from a recognized university (LL.B or equivalent).

1–2 years of practical legal experience, ideally with a focus on financial institutions, banking, or investment services.

Knowledge of compliance risks from Financial Crime and Regulatory Compliance perspective, relevant prior experience will be considered a significant advantage.

Solid understanding of Armenian financial sector legislation, including regulatory frameworks issued by the Central Bank of Armenia.

Ability to interpret and analyse AML/KYC standards, customer due diligence requirements, and financial monitoring obligations.

Fluency in Armenian, English, and Russian (written and spoken).

Excellent legal drafting, research, and communication skills.

Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to manage workload independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
