TABIA LLC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate or Senior Associate to join their legal team, working in close collaboration with one of our key clients — a major player in Armenia’s defense and high-tech sector. This is a full-time, onsite role based at the client’s premises, involving dynamic legal work in a mission-driven, public-sector-aligned environment.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in corporate and regulatory law and a proven ability to navigate internal legal workflows, preferably within or in partnership with public institutions or agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal support for internal regulatory, licensing, procurement, and compliance matters

  • Assist in the drafting, review, and negotiation of commercial, inter-agency, research and development, and licensing agreements.

  • Coordinate legal aspects of grant programs, technology partnerships, and research initiatives

  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on public procurement rules, innovation funding, intellectual property, and related matters.

  • Liaise with institutional stakeholders, regulators, and technical teams to ensure legal oversight and risk management.

  • Support legal aspects of innovation project evaluation, public-private partnerships, and sensitive contractual matters.

  • Contribute to internal legal procedure development in line with public-sector practices.

Required & Preferred Qualifications:

  • Law degree from a recognized university (LL.B or equivalent).

  • 2–5+ years of legal experience, including in corporate law, administrative law, defense contracting, or public procurement.

  • Prior experience working with or advising public institutions, state-affiliated bodies, or regulated entities is highly preferred.

  • Familiarity with Technology Readiness Level (TRL) evaluation frameworks, including legal oversight of R&D project lifecycles, innovation financing, and the integration of TRL assessments in state-supported programs.

  • Understanding of relevant standards and compliance frameworks, including ISO standards (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 27001) and GOST standards, and their application to legal documentation, quality assurance, and regulatory obligations in high-tech and defense sectors.

  • Knowledge of Armenian legal and regulatory frameworks, particularly in relation to public-private partnerships, dual-use technologies, or innovation policy.

  • Excellent legal drafting, research, and communication skills.

  • Fluency in Armenian, English, and Russian is required.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to operate in a structured, compliance-driven environment with internal oversight mechanisms.

  • Commitment to long-term professional development and supporting legally complex, nationally significant programs.

What We Offer:

  • Full-time, official employment through TABIA LLC.

  • Onsite placement at client’s premises, in a secure and professionally structured environment.

  • Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.

  • Medical insurance after the probation period.

  • Opportunity to engage in high-impact national initiatives with international exposure.
